Bloomberg Business : Subaru is still the hottest car in America

“The U.S. auto business in 2015 is a Hollywood movie—one big car chase and a happy ending. If there’s a hero, it’s scrappy little Subaru, the Japanese company best known as Fuji Heavy Industries.

“U.S. drivers bought a record 53,070 Subarus in September, a 28 percent increase over the same month last year. No other car company saw sales grow so quickly. In fact, no other company has been close to matching Subaru’s sales pace all year.”

2015 Subaru WRX Teaser Photo | Rimrock Subaru

Many of you remember the Spy Photos leaked back in April of 2013 of the new 2015 Subaru STi testbed. Well, Subaru just announced they will be bringing a production version of the 2015 WRX to the LA Auto Show, later this month. For now, all we can look at is the new teaser image released by SOA.

What do you think? Obviously, this car appears somewhat toned down from the concept version, which is to be expected. Other than this photo, Subaru hasn’t released any other details about this new addition to the WRX family, but knowing Subaru, we imagine it’s not going to be a let down. Rumor has it that the 2015 WRX will (obviously!) have a turbocharged boxer engine, all-wheel drive, and very likely a manual transmission. However, there are rumors that the WRX and STI will both come in sedan-only variants for the 2015 model year….but for the hatchback lovers out there, don’t worry yet – lets wait until the official LA Auto Show debut to see what the plan is for certain.

Motortrend Posts Spy Photos of the 2015 WRX STI! | Rimrock Subaru

The Subaru world was abuzz recently when Subaru displayed the concept WRX car at the NYC Auto Show (See here: https://rimrocksubarukia.wordpress.com/2013/03/29/new-subaru-wrx-concept-car-like-no-other-rimrock-subaru/)

Now, Motortrend has released spy photos of a prototype 2015 WRX on the streets! Unfortunately, not all of the elements of the amazing concept car appear to have made it to the prototype. However, many design elements have.

“Luckily, Subaru has seen fit to give the WRX’s nose and tail more of an overhaul in the transformation from the Impreza. Where old WRX models gained sportier trim, diffusers, and the like, the 2015 WRX looks to be gaining different front and rear fascias when compared with its more-plebian donor. Here is where we can see the influence of the fantastic New York concept car: the front clip wears an almost-identical hexagonal grille, trapezoidal lower intakes, and LED-encircled xenon headlights. Around back, the diffuser has similar ribbing to the concept car. Since this is a WRX STI, there is the requisite giant rear wing. Other changes include larger wheels, LED taillights, and a hood scoop.” – Motortrend
