If you’ve heard about Subaru’s new BRZ sport coupe, you’ve probably also heard that the base model will be lacking the turbocharged Boxer engine that Subaru is famous for. However, that’s no longer the case. Subaru announced December 5th, 2011 that the new BRZ will also be available in a 2.0L turbocharged model, featuring Subaru’s newly redesigned FA20 engine. This engine takes Subaru’s conventional FB20 engine and employs additional efficient design as well as direct injection. This combination yields better fuel mileage and greater handling through compact design.
